Othello Crush Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Othello Crush collects, why it is used and what choices you have.

1. Who we are

Othello Crush is operated by Zodor Productions in Linköping, Sweden. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Zodor Productions, and “the app” refers to Othello Crush for iPhone.

2. Information we collect

• Account and profile information: your Sign in with Apple identifier, email address supplied by Apple (which may be a private relay address), nickname, login method and account identifier.
• Avatar information: a profile image you voluntarily select from your photo library and upload for use as your in-game avatar. The app only requests photo-library access when you choose this feature.
• Gameplay and social information: games, board positions, moves, scores, wins, losses, draws, ranking, highscores, friends, invitations, blocked-player status and other information needed to run multiplayer matches.
• Chat content: messages you send inside a game, together with the related game, sender and time information.
• Notifications and technical information: the Apple Push Notification service device token and limited technical request or error information needed to deliver turns, chat alerts and operate or protect the service.
• Purchases and virtual items: records needed to grant and maintain Othello Crush Gold, virtual items and purchase outcomes. Apple processes payment-card and billing information; we do not receive your full payment-card details.
• Support information: information you choose to provide when contacting Zodor Productions, including through email, telephone or Facebook.

3. How we use information

We use this information to create and authenticate accounts, show profiles and avatars, find friends and opponents, run games, save progress, calculate statistics and rankings, deliver push notifications, provide chat, fulfil virtual-item purchases, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems and respond to support or privacy requests.

4. CrushBot and automated play

When you choose CrushBot as your opponent, the service processes the current game state and available legal moves to select and submit a response. CrushBot uses the same game APIs and notification flow as other matches. Gameplay against CrushBot is not used to train a general-purpose generative AI model, and CrushBot does not receive your payment information.

5. When information is shared

We do not sell personal information and do not use Othello Crush data for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking. Information may be processed by service providers only as needed to operate the app, including Apple for Sign in with Apple, App Store purchases and push notifications, and hosting or infrastructure providers used to run the Othello Crush service. Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards.

Legacy account records may contain a Facebook identifier or avatar reference from earlier versions of the app. The Facebook page linked for support is an external service governed by Meta’s own privacy terms; visiting or messaging that page may provide information to Meta.

6. Public and player-visible information

Your nickname, avatar, ranking, highscore and selected gameplay statistics may be visible to other Othello Crush players. Chat messages are visible to participants in the relevant game. Do not use an avatar, nickname or chat message that contains information you do not want other players to see.

7. Data retention

Account, gameplay, ranking, friendship, chat and purchase-related records are retained while needed to provide the service, maintain game integrity and meet legal, security or accounting obligations. Support correspondence and technical logs are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which they were collected. Backup copies may remain for a limited period before being overwritten.

8. Your choices and rights

• You can decline notification permission or change it later in iOS Settings.
• You can decline photo-library access and continue using the standard avatar.
• You can change your nickname or avatar through the app where those controls are available.
• You may ask to access, correct or delete your account and associated personal information, or object to or restrict certain processing where applicable.

To make a privacy or account-deletion request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify that you control the relevant account before completing the request. Some information may be retained when required by law or when necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

9. Security

We use technical and organisational safeguards intended to protect Othello Crush information, including encrypted HTTPS connections between the app and the service and access controls for operational systems. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

10. Children

Othello Crush is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so that we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.

11. International processing

The service is operated from Sweden. Depending on the services used, information may be processed in other countries with different data-protection laws. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app, our practices or legal requirements change. We will publish the revised policy on this page and update the effective date above.
